A Special Thanksgiving Message from Georgie’s Custom Catering Owner, Georgann Churchya
Thanksgiving is here, and I thank God for all the wonderful things He provides for us on a daily basis.
- Freedom to say what is on your mind
- Freedom to be able to own a business
- Freedom to pray and in any religious building you choose
But, we cannot, and should not forget the pilgrimage that started all of our Thanksgiving traditions.
As for our personal Thanksgiving holiday this year, we will be spending it with my sisters and some of their family, as well as my youngest daughter. My eldest daughter and family couldn’t make it home this year, nor could my nieces or their families. However, they are all in our hearts and prayers. And, then there is my mother who is in a nursing facility, and for the first time in her life, cannot be with us today. We feel so sad and are missing her today, but we know she is in the right place right now.
As my siblings, their spouses, I and my husband continue to get older, I have learned to cherish every Thanksgiving, and all other holidays I can spend with them.
One day, when my children slow up from their busy schedules, we ‘old’ folks will pass the torch (or spatula) on to them. And, until then, we continue to count our blessings and those times we have together; even if fewer and further between moments.
